In June 2019 we were appointed as an Associate of Futurecity. Futurecity is a multidisciplinary cultural agency, set up to reflect the burgeoning worldwide interest in culture-driven placemaking and regeneration. They deliver cultural projects from inception to completion. This can range from bronze sculpture to embedded public realm furniture, to collaborative landscape design or major public art pieces. Our role is to assist with the delivery of such projects in accordance with the agreed parameters.
BAKERS QUAY, GLOUCESTER DOCKS
In March 2017, we were appointed by Rokeby Developments to be the Client Representative for Bakers Quay in Gloucester Docks. The £55 million regeneration of this city centre site will deliver over 100 residential apartments and numerous canal-side restaurants. The site has been vacant for over 10 years and contains three listed late 19th century warehouses. This promises to be a complex and challenging development.
Phase 1 of this development has recently been completed on target and on time, delivering 47 apartments, 4 cottages, a 104 bed Premier Inn, Beefeater restaurant and a Costa Drive-thru. You can find out more about the development at Bakers Quay. Phase 2 will be starting soon and involves the renovation of two former malt houses to deliver a 120 flats and three A3 units.
LUXURY FLAT REFURBISHMENT
We have recently managing the comprehensive refurbishment of a privately owned flat in a regency building on the Brompton Road. Our role on this project was as the Contract Administrator.
We are working on various projects with Matching Green including Offley Works where we are the Employers’ Agent and Principle Designer; Spa Terminus and Druid Street where we are Principle Designer; and Dockley where we have provided funding advice in addition to acting as Principle Designer and Employers’ Agent.
We have also managed the refurbishment of listed and historic buildings, including the overhaul of a 14th century church and the complete transformation of a neglected, substantial grade 2 listed Georgian country house.
VICTORIA HOUSE BLOOMSBURY LONDON
William as the UK Director of Garbe UK Ltd, was totally responsible for the comprehensive refurbishment, letting and selling of Victoria House. This is a stunning Grade II listed neoclassical landmark building located in Bloomsbury, one of the capital’s most historic areas. Constructed in the 1920s, it was extensively remodelled over 3 years with a construction spend of £60 million to provide contemporary accommodation within an opulent structure. This impressive building houses 300,000 square feet of prime office, retail and leisure space including an original art deco ballroom.

THE CRYSTAL ROYAL DOCKS LONDON
The Crystal is a Sustainable Cities Initiative by Siemens that explores how we can create a better future for our cities. It is home to the world’s largest focus on urban sustainability. We provided project leadership services to Siemens Real Estate with responsibility to deliver the project in time for the 2012 London Olympics and within agreed budgets.
COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL, NORTHERN EUROPE
Over a period of 3½ years, we provided interim management services to Siemens Real Estate. The role covered the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and the Nordic countries. During the first year the involvement was managing the transfer of property assets from the operating companies into Siemens Real Estate.
Thereafter, our role was to provide overall management of 17 projects, across northern Europe, at various stages with a total capital value of €350m.
PAYNES & BORTHWICK WHARVES, GREENWICH
Working through Lane Castle, representing LaSalle Investment Management, in partnership with United House Developments, developed and regenerated a significant riverside area of Deptford. This iconic, award winning, scheme reunites the community with its historic waterfront.
The Paynes & Borthwick Wharves development created 263 new homes, offices, shops, an art gallery and a tranquil place to meet & eat. It provides local people with renewed access to landscaped, revitalised open spaces overlooking the Thames.
