William Avery has a wealth of experience in construction and is one of the founding partners of Lane Castle. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Chartered Institute of Building, the Carpenters Company and is a former President and current Director of the Institute of Carpenters.
After many years working for contractors, William became a Director of international property consultant, Colliers CRE (now trading as Colliers International) and then for four years from 2000, headed up the UK subsidiary of Garbe Gruppe.
In 2004 William started his own consultancy business now trading as William Avery Ltd which is the business through which all activities are channelled.
William is a partner of Lane Castle which was formed in 2005 and remains active to this day and are an associate of Futurecity.
One key service provided by the company was over a period of 3½ years, when William provided interim management services to Siemens Real Estate. The role covered the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and the Nordic countries. During the first year the involvement was managing the transfer of property assets from the operating companies into Siemens Real Estate. Thereafter, the role was to provide overall management of 17 projects across Northern Europe, at various stages with a total capital value of €350m.
William has dealt with all aspects of the property market and its institutions. He also has extensive experience of managing both operations and resources in organisations with budget responsibility, both at corporate and project specific levels. At university, William gained a BSc in Building and an MSc in architecture.
Outside of work, William is a keen yachtsman, with his Yachtmaster (offshore) credentials has skippered wins at the annual property regatta, the Little Britain Challenge Cup and the Bank of England regatta. He is also an avid amateur musician, performing regularly in London and helping at his local church.
